What is a Naturopath?

A Naturopathic Doctor is a licensed  healthcare provider that can treat, support, and diagnose various health concerns. The focus is on understanding a patient’s health from a holistic perspective – addressing the root cause of disease, building the relationship between mind, body, and spirit, and working together to improve well-being.

With the use of herbal medicine, acupuncture, lifestyle counselling, and nutritional supplements, we teach our body how to respond to illness, and prevent  it from happening in the future.

Why Should you go to a Naturopath?

You should go to a Naturopath if you have questions regarding your health or if you have specific healthcare goals that you would like to work on from a natural perspective. A naturopath is trained to understand and order lab work and can work with other healthcare practitioners to help you understand  your body, and feel better.

Why is Acupuncture Part of Your Treatment Plan?

Acupuncture provides a way to address your symptoms from a totally different perspective than western medicine. Herbs and Supplements work similarly to pharmaceuticals, except they are natural. Acupuncture is a form of Eastern Medicine that doesn’t rely on traditional forms of diagnosis in order to address a person’s symptoms and condition – which can be helpful when a patient comes in with  lot of concerns and haven’t seen improvements from medication or other forms of treatment.

How Often Should you See a Naturopath?

This depends on your health care needs and goals – We have patients who come in weekly for a few weeks to get their health on track with diet and counselling.  Others will come in for a consult, and then return once a month for follow ups – since we need a bit of time to let the treatment work and see results.
