Compression Socks & Sclerotherapy

Find out who should wear compression socks and how they can improve blood circulation and relieve leg pain and swelling.  At Keswick Active Health Group, we provide high-quality compression socks and safe, effective sclerotherapy to help you feel better on your feet. Our team fits medical-grade compression socks that support blood flow, reduce swelling, and ease tired, achy legs. For spider veins and small varicose veins, we use sclerotherapy to gently treat the problem veins so your legs can look and feel healthier. We walk you through each step, explain your options in plain language, and answer your questions so you know what to expect. Whether you want relief from leg pain, swelling, or visible veins, we help you choose the treatment that fits your needs and lifestyle.

Who should wear Compression socks?

Compression socks/stockings are used to improve blood circulation in your legs which helps reduce inflammation and pain. We recommend using them after any vascular laser treatment, including Sclerotherapy.

They can also be used to treat and manage a wide variety of conditions, such as:

  • Edema
  • Venous Insufficiency
  • Varicose Veins
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis
  • Lymphedema
  • Phlebitis
  • Individuals who suffer from leg ulcers, leg swelling, circulatory problems or spend a lot of time on their feet throughout the day can also benefit from wearing compression socks.

What is Sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy erases Spider Veins. It is a safe, simple, outpatient procedure, with most appointments being an hour or less. The treatment consists of an injection of an irritant solution directly into the vein with a very small needle. This will cause the vein to become inflamed and collapse, forcing blood to be channeled through healthier nearby veins. Eventually, your body reabsorbs the spider veins so that they are no longer visible on the surface of your skin.

There is no downtime after this treatment, you can resume your regular activity immediately. We recommend wearing compression socks/stockings for the first 5-10 days to help with the recovery and circulation of the veins. You’ll also need to avoid the sun for a few weeks, as this can lead to dark spots on the skin (aka, fall/winter is the best time to have this treatment done)!
